Blues activate Blais from IR, assign him to Rampage

Blues forward Sammy Blais is headed to the AHL after returning from a lower-body injury.

ST. LOUIS -- Blues forward Sammy Blais has returned from the lower-body injury that sidelined him for the past two weeks, but now he'll have to earn his way back to the NHL.

The Blues announced on Friday that they've activated Blais from injured reserve and assigned him to the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL.

The 21-year-old Blais has dressed in 10 games for the Blues this season, collecting one goal and two assists. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward has also appeared in 12 games for the Rampage, recording 14 points (six goals, eight assists). The Montmagny, Quebec, native was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 176th overall, of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
