In a series of moves Friday, the Blues activated defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk from injured reserve and signed forward Martin Havlat to a one-year contract. Havlat had been with St. Louis on a professional tryout.
The Blues also released forward Dainius Zubrus from his professional tryout and assigned forward Ty Rattie to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.
Shattenkirk, 26, has been among several injured Blues, along with forwards Paul Stastny, Jaden Schwartz and Patrik Berglund. Shattenkirk has missed the last 10 games after he suffered a groin injury against Calgary on Oct. 13. He posted one assist and six penalty minutes in three appearances before the injury.
Rattie, 22, has logged two assists in five games with the Blues this season, plus seven points (four goals, three assists) in three games with Chicago.
