Blues affiliate Wolves name Craig Berube head coach
ST. LOUIS -- Craig Berube, who recently coached the Philadelphia Flyers for two seasons, has been named head coach of the Chicago Wolves, the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate.
Berube signed a two-year contract.
Berube, 50, has coached in 13 seasons since retiring from professional hockey following the 2003-04 campaign. Most recently, he accumulated a 75-58-28 regular-season record with the Flyers from 2013-15.
Prior to his stint as Flyers head coach, Berube spent six seasons as an assistant coach for the club (2006-07, 2008-13) as well as two seasons as an assistant with its AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms. The Calahoo, Alberta, native also served as the Phantoms' head coach for two seasons, including 2007-08, when he led the team to a 46-27-7 regular-season record and a second-place finish in the AHL's East Division.
During his playing career, Berube appeared in 17 NHL seasons with Philadelphia, Toronto, Calgary, Washington and the New York Islanders. He dressed in 1,054 career regular-season games, recording 159 points (61 goals, 98 assists) and 3,149 penalty minutes -- the seventh most in NHL history.
