Blues remain quiet at trade deadline
ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Blues decided no move was the best move Monday.
As the 2015-16 NHL trade deadline arrived, the Blues -- despite reports of potential interest in forwards Loui Eriksson of Boston and Jonathan Drouin of Tampa Bay -- opted against shaking up their roster.

According to the Blues' Chris Pinkert, both the salary cap and injuries likely contributed to the Blues' silence Monday, with general manager Doug Armstrong saying the eventual return of the team's injured players (Alexander Steen, Jori Lehtera, Steve Ott and Brian Elliott) would provide a jolt similar to acquiring players at the deadline.
The Blues already saw the immediate impact from the return of one injured player, defenseman Alex Pietrangelo, in their 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday. Pietrangelo was one of five Blues players who scored in the game.
