Blues' schedule features season opener, Winter Classic against Chicago
The St. Louis Blues' 50th anniversary season is only a few months away, and there's plenty to look forward to when the Note returns to the ice for the start of the NHL regular season this October.
The Blues will face their bitter rival Chicago Blackhawks in both teams' regular season opener on Oct. 12 in Chicago, then twice at home over the next two months before the franchises' marquee Winter Classic matchup at Busch Stadium on Jan. 2. The Blues' home opener, meanwhile, will come against new associate coach Mike Yeo's former team, the Minnesota Wild, on Oct. 13.
The Blues will get their first look at the Western Conference champion San Jose Sharks -- the team that ended the Blues' deep postseason run this May -- in November at Scottrade. The Blues won't seen the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins until Jan. 24 on the road; the Pens will visit St. Louis in February.
