Blues sign 2018 draft pick Hofer to three-year, entry-level contract

ST. LOUIS – Goaltender Joel Hofer, the St. Louis Blues' fourth-round pick (107th overall) in the 2018 draft, has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Blues, the team announced Thursday.

Hofer, 18, has spent this season with two clubs in the Western Hockey League. He has gone 6-21-1 with a .904 save percentage in 30 games with the Swift Current Broncos and 9-8-0 with a 3.18 goals-against average and .911 save percentage in 18 games with the Portland Winterhawks.

The 6-foot-3, 161-pounder, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, began his junior career with Swift Current in 2017-18, posting an 8-3-1 record, 2.61 gaa and .914 save percentage while helping the Broncos capture the WHL championship.
