Bob Miller to return to TV booth for 58 games during 2016-17 Kings season

Bob Miller, the Hall of Fame broadcaster for the Kings, will return to the FOX Sports West booth for this upcoming season, his 44th season and the Kings' 50th Anniversary season.

Miller, who missed the Kings' final three months last season after undergoing quadruple by-pass heart surgery, is scheduled to call 58 games (including all home games) this season plus the first-round of the playoffs as he takes a reduced on-air role with the club for the first time.  He is scheduled to return to the booth on Oct. 7 when the Kings play in the first Frozen Fury exhibition game in Las Vegas, the first of two preseason games from the new T-Mobile Arena to air on FOX Sports West.

Said Miller: "After 43 seasons of doing a full schedule of home and road games, and considering I will be 78-years-old on Opening Night this season, I have decided the time has come to cut back on the rigors of travel. I am pleased and thankful that I have the complete cooperation and blessing of Kings management in this decision."

The exact games Miller will not be calling will be announced at a later date. In addition, the Kings will announce who will be calling those contests alongside TV Analyst Jim Fox at a later time.

The Los Angeles Kings and FOX Sports West on Monday released their 75-game television schedule on FOX Sports West/Prime Ticket for the 2016-17 season as the Kings celebrate their 50th Anniversary.  All 82 Kings regular season games are again slated to be broadcast this season locally or on national television, along with two Kings 2016 exhibition games on FOX Sports West (Oct. 7 and Oct. 8 in Las Vegas).
