Booker leads Suns past Spurs in preseason opener

PHOENIX -- Devin Booker, coming off his All-Rookie season, scored 19 points Monday as the Suns beat the Spurs 91-86 at Talking Stick Resport Arena.

No. 4 pick Dragan Bender missed all four shots and was scoreless in 24 minutes. Marquese Chriss, the eighth pick whose rights were acquired from Sacramento, scored 10 points.

Kawhi Leonard started and scored 17 points in 20 minutes for San Antonio. Jonathon Simmons was the only other Spurs player in double figures with 10 points.

UP NEXT: San Antonio (0-1) hosts Atlanta on Saturday. Phoenix (1-0) hosts Utah on Wednesday.
