Brewers catcher Lucroy named to All-Star Game
Milwaukee Brewers slugger Jonathan Lucroy is headed to the All-Star Game as a reserve catcher, it was announced Tuesday.
Lucroy is a manager's selection for the National League, and heads to the All-Star Game for just the second time in his seven-year career.
The All-Star Game will be played Tuesday, July 12 at San Diego's Petco Park.
The 30-year-old is batting .296 this season through 76 games, and is tied for the Brewers lead with 40 runs-scored.
Lucroy also ranks third on the team with 82 hits, as well as 39 RBI (third), 16 doubles (tied for second) and 10 home runs (third).
Meanwhile, Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun remains in the running for the last All-Star Game spot as one of the "Final Five," with the team encouraging fans to vote for him using the hashtag "#VoteBraun" on social media.
