Brewers option Houser, recall Saladino from Triple-A

Right-hander Adrian Houser is headed back to the minors after making his first major-league start.

The Brewers recalled infielder Tyler Saladino from Triple-A San Antonio and optioned Houser, who started Milwaukee's loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday.

Houser went four innings, allowing nine hits and five earned runs.

The 26-year-old has made three appearances for the Missions this season, allowing just 10 hits and two earned runs in 16 1/3 innings.

Saladino, 29, appeared in 52 games for the Brewers last season, playing second base, third and shortstop while hitting .246/.302/.398 with five home runs.

He's hitting .276/.348/.690 in 17 games the Missions this year.
