NOTABLE

Syracuse: The Orange scored at least 50 points in five regular-season games. Syracuse played at Clemson this year and gave the playoff-bound Tigers their toughest regular-season test before falling 27-23.

West Virginia: The Mountaineers boast one of the nation's most potent offenses and average 520.4 yards and 42.3 points.

LAST TIME

Syracuse beat West Virginia 38-14 in the 2012 Pinstripe Bowl. The two former Big East rivals have met 60 times, with Syracuse owning a 33-27 edge.

BOWL HISTORY

Syracuse: 26th bowl appearance overall but first since 2013. Syracuse played in this game and lost to Georgia Tech 51-14 in 2004 when it was known as the Champs Sports Bowl.

West Virginia: 37th bowl appearance overall and fifth appearance in the Camping World, though it was known by other names during the Mountaineers' previous trips. West Virginia's most recent appearance in this game was a 31-14 loss to Miami in the 2016 Russell Athletic Bowl.
