Jedd Gyorko had three hits in six at-bats before landing on the DL.

The St. Louis Cardinals got considerably healthier Monday when they activated two key players, reliever Luke Gregerson and infielder Jedd Gyorko, from the 10-day disabled list.

Gregerson is back from a left hamstring strain that landed him on the DL to open the season. Gyorko played three games before going on the DL on April 3 with a right hamstring strain.

To make room on the roster, the Cardinals optioned right-hander Mike Mayers and infielder Yairo Muñoz to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.

Gregerson's first appearance of the season will mark his Cardinals debut. He was signed as a free agent in December. The right-hander pitched four scoreless innings in four games for Class A Palm Beach during his injury rehabilitation assignment.

Gyorko was hitting .500 (3 for 6) with one RBI when he was placed on the DL.

Mayers has pitched in three games for the Cardinals this season, allowing five hits and striking out three batter while fashioning a 1.80 ERA over five innings. He earned a three-inning save in St. Louis' April 12 win at Cincinnati.

Muñoz had two hits and 11 strikeouts in 18 at-bats thus far in 2018.
