For the third time this offseason, Miami Marlins third baseman Casey McGehee received the accolade of National League Comeback Player of the Year.

This time, Major League Baseball made the proclamation on Friday afternoon, honoring the 32-year-old for his performance during the 2014 season.

Earlier this offseason, McGehee received NL Comeback Player from The Sporting News and the Players Choice Awards.

"Each one of them is special," McGehee told FOXSportsFlorida.com. "Obviously the one the players vote on that's special for obvious reasons but then the others the writers vote on -- that means something to you too, especially being in Miami not the biggest baseball market -- for people to take notice on a national stage of what you've been able to do makes you feel good. As an organization hopefully people pay more attention."

After spending 2013 in Japan, McGehee signed a deal with the Marlins last December to be the everyday third baseman. In 160 games, he hit .287 with 29 doubles, four home runs and 76 RBI.

McGehee matched Pittsburgh's Andrew McCutchen with 115 first-half hits, earning him the moniker "#HitsMcGehee." He reached base safely in 31 straight games from June 4-July 7. His first-half numbers put him in the Final Vote to reach the All-Star Game.

His final RBI total was the highest in club history by a player with four or fewer home runs, besting Edgar Renteria (4 HR/52 RBI in 1997). In major-league history, it marked the most since Willie McGee knocked three homers and 77 RBI for St. Louis and Oakland in 1990 as the NL batting champion.

This awards season has been a busy one for the Marlins. Christian Yelich won his first Rawlings Gold Glove earlier this week. Giancarlo Stanton received the NL Hank Aaron Award, the NL Outstanding Player from the Players Choice Awards, an NL Silver Slugger and is a finalist for the NL Most Valuable Player.

"I think that's something the whole team can be proud of," McGehee said. "All the awards everybody had a hand in, the whole team had a hand in each and every award."
