Class A pitchers from Blue Jays, Indians suspended 80 games

NEW YORK (AP) -- Two Class A pitchers have each been suspended 80 games for violating the minor league drug program.

Joel Espinal of the Toronto system and Domingo Jimenez of the Cleveland organization were penalized Friday by the commissioner's office.

Both right-handers tested positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance. Espinal was at Dunedin of the Florida State League and Jimenez was with Lake County of the Midwest League.

There have been 36 players suspended this year under the minor league drug program and six under the big league program.
