Clippers guard Rivers: I'm back & focused on winning NBA championship
DeAndre Jordan has re-signed with the Clippers ... and now, so has Austin Rivers.
The backup guard, and son of Clippers head coach/general manager Doc Rivers, will remain in Los Angeles for the next two years, the team announced on Monday.
On Sunday, Rivers took to Instagram to express his feelings about the move ... and his goals for the future.
Rivers, the 10th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, averaged 7.1 PPG (in 41 games) and connected on 103 of 316 3-point attempts (.326) during the 2014-15 season.
His biggest Clippers moment, besides attempting to lure longtime Lakers supporter Jack Nicholson to Clipper Nation, was his Game 3 performance in the Western Conference semifinals. Rivers scored 15 of his 25 points in the third quarter vs. the Rockets en route to 124-99 victory.
The Clippers, however, lost the series to the Rockets and were eliminated from the postseason.
