Closer Depth Charts In Second Half
(Updated: 8/2/16)
The trade deadline has officially come and gone, and bullpens around the league have experienced major shakeups. There are multiple new closers to grab in free agency, so let's get right to it.
Players listed under the CLOSER section are the pitchers who should be directly in line for saves. Players under the NEXT UP heading are the ones who are next in line who could help you in the saves department in case of injury or trade. Pitchers under the SLEEPER category are guys who might have a crack at earning the closer role as the year carries on.
Let's take a look at bullpen depth charts around the league.

Trade Deadline Update (8/2): There were some big changes at the trade deadline, as multiple players moved into closing roles.
Tony Watson has taken over as the closer in Pittsburgh, as Mark Melancon was traded to Washington.
Andrew Miller was acquired by Cleveland, where he'll take the closing role over and move Cody Allen to a setup role.
Aroldis Chapman was acquired by the Cubs, moving Hector Rondon to a setup role and bumping up Dellin Betances as the new closer for the Yankees.
With Will Smith heading to San Francisco and Jeremy Jeffress going to Texas, both in setup roles, Milwaukee's closer job has shifted to Tyler Thornburg.
Jake Barrett has taken over as the closer in Arizona after multiple bullpen moves. Edwin Diaz has replaced Steve Cishek after a few blown saves in Seattle.
For fantasy purposes, Diaz, Thornburg, Barrett and maybe Watson could be availably in your league if you're in need of saves. Cishek, Smith and Jeffress can be safely dropped. Allen and Papelbon will have a hard time getting saves, and can probably be dropped as well.
