Colts snapper Matt Overton opens tailgating venue near Lucas Oil Stadium
Turning to his current profession for inspiration, Indianapolis Colts long snapper Matt Overton has realized his dream of starting his own business.
The Indianapolis Star reports that the 30-year-old veteran has launched The Blockhouse Indianapolis -- an exclusive quasi-tailgating venue only a block from Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indy.

“We want this to be a very exclusive, tight-knit club,” Overton said of the facility that can accommodate only 39 memberships, half of which have already been sold. “I wanted people to feel like it’s a VIP experience.”
Based on the size of their vehicles, members will pay between $1,200 to $1,500 for the season and will get to enjoy free food (from a not-yet-disclosed upscale restaurant) and drinks from partners Sun King and Triton brewing companies.
“Some people don’t want to cook in 20 degree weather or when it’s 100 degrees outside,” Overton said. “This is for those people. Come in and park at the same spot, not rushing to find the place, enjoy some great food and drinks and get excited about the game.”
