As the Big East transitions to the American Athletic Conference, commissioner Mike Aresco said there are plans to adjust the bowl lineup in future seasons.

And one possibility is adding a bowl game in South Florida, Aresco said. While Sun Life Stadium already hosts the Orange Bowl, another option is Marlins Park. For now, the AAC isn't publicly talking about stadiums, but the league likes the concept of a South Florida bowl game.

"We think that's doable. We think the finances can work," Aresco told reporters at the league meetings Tuesday. "This conference, we know we need to do some things differently. It would
be a calculated risk, but we think we understand the finances really
well."

According to the Tampa Bay Times, a Marlins spokesperson said the team would be interested in hosting a bowl game and that the stadium is configurable for football.

The Big East has had deals to play bowl games at other baseball stadiums, such as the Beef ‘O’Brady’s Bowl at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg and the Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium in New York.
