Cowboys nose tackle Ratliff sprains ankle
ARLINGTON, Texas — Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff exited the locker room Saturday night on crutches.
Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones confirmed that Ratliff has an ankle sprain.
"We'll look at it and evaluate it tonight and have more about it tomorrow," Jones said before adding that he didn’t know if it was a high ankle sprain.
Asked if he was concerned, Jones replied: "Well yeah. I’m concerned about any of these [players] getting down to when we’re within 10 days of playing, so you have to be concerned."
Cowboys defensive end Jason Hatcher didn’t see how Ratliff got injured but said he didn’t think it was too serious.
"Rat, he's a warrior," Hatcher said. “He’ll be back in no time. We're going to pray for him as a team. We need a guy like that to be back in the huddle as soon as possible."
Ratliff, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, has been sidelined for most of the offseason with plantar fasciitis in his foot.
