Coyotes to host Flyers in season opener

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- For the first time in franchise history, the Arizona Coyotes will host the Philadelphia Flyers in their season opener.

The Coyotes will take on the Flyers on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Gila River Arena in the 2016-17 season opener. This will be the third time in the last four years that the Coyotes will start the season at home. The Coyotes are 13-5-1 in home openers since the team moved to the Valley of the Sun.

The Coyotes will announce the entire 2016-17 regular season schedule Tuesday morning.
