Crew SC responds to mean tweets after jersey hate
Columbus Crew SC revealed a new kit inspired by the city flag of Columbus on Wednesday. It did not go well.

The reaction of social media was swift and vicious. The unusual combination of colors -- a primarily yellow and white top with red and bright blue cuffs on the sleeves, plus bright blue shorts and white socks -- sparked immediate condemnations and prompted quick comparisons to Minions, popsicles, snow cones and any number of animate and inanimate objects.
Crew SC executives and players watched the scenes unfold and noted the outrage. Club officials collected some of the meanest tweets they could find and several players responded to them in a video posted on the club's official Twitter feed on Friday night:

Give credit to those Crew SC players for leaning into the anger and having a little fun with it. And for having the gumption to actually wear those jerseys while doing it.
