D-backs put Peralta on DL, call up Brito from Reno
D-backs outfielder David Peralta is back on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 15) with a lower back sprain. Replacing him on the 25-man active roster is outfielder Socrates Brito, who was recalled from Triple-A Reno.
Pitcher Shelby Miller was activated from the disabled list to fill the roster spot of infielder/outfielder Brandon Drury, who was optioned to Reno after Sunday's game.
Brito, 23, began the season on the 25-man roster, going 7 for 31 in 10 games with one home run, one triple and two RBI. In 52 games at Reno, he was hitting .289 with eight doubles, six triples, five home runs and 30 RBI. He homered in his last game for the Aces, on Saturday, and went 4 for 5 on Friday. After a slow start at Reno, he's had 30 hits in his last 76 at-bats, raising his average from .225 to .289.
Brito is a left-handed bat and gives the D-backs a second option in center field, along with Michael Bourn.
