D-backs recall Godley, send Anderson to Triple-A
The Diamondbacks on Wednesday recalled right-hander Zack Godley from Double-A Mobile after they optioned right-hander Chase Anderson to Triple-A Reno following Tuesday's 15-inning game.
Godley, 25, is 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA, .226 opponent's average and 17 strikeouts in three starts with the D-backs earlier this season. He is the second D-backs starter to win his first three major league outings (also Anderson in 2014). Godley, though, will work out of the D-backs bullpen this time around as the team wants to limit his innings.
Anderson, 27, is 5-5 with a 4.51 ERA, .280 opponent's average and 84 strikeouts in 21 starts this season. Anderson gave up seven run in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Pirates and has a 7.65 ERA in his last eight starts, sandwiched around a DL stint.
