Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Sometimes life on NASCAR road just plain stinks
Life on the road is not always all that it's cracked up to be, even when you're flying from NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race to race in private jets.
Just ask Dale Earnhardt Jr. after he flew back home to Charlotte, North Carolina, from California with fellow Sprint Cup drivers Ryan Newman and Jamie McMurray following Sunday's Save/Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.
Earnhardt obviously passed much of the time on the long flight across the country by interacting with fans -- and fellow drivers -- on social media.
That's how we came to know that such trips are not so glamourous much of the time. Check out the following social-media exchanges between Earnhardt and McMurray that illustrated the fact.
Flying home with @jamiemcmurray and @RyanJNewman. 1 of todays goals was to not wreck them. Ryan has now taken his shoes off. I have regrets.

He is in the back of the plane. The scent has not made it up here yet. https://t.co/jRH3r3QevF

Guy bragging on how big his plane is. Update: I have now removed my shoes to battle with Newman. https://t.co/aRYZFQFgzM

I was thoughtful enough to change socks after the race. Newman's look well traveled. https://t.co/R1YhBFOh5v
