Daniel-Andre Tande of Norway wins ski jumping World Cup

KLINGENTHAL, Germany (AP) Daniel-Andre Tande of Norway won the first individual ski jumping event of the new World Cup season on Sunday.
The 21-year-old Tande soared 142 meters with his first jump and 140.5 with his second to earn 268.7 points, edging Peter Prevc of Slovenia by 3.1 points.
Prenc jumped 139 and 138 meters.
World champion Severin Freund of Germany was third, with jumps of 134 and 132 for 249.5 points, followed by compatriot Richard Freitag, who jumped 132 and 141 for 249.4.

Noriaki Kasai of Japan was fifth with jumps of 136.5 and 139.5 for 247.2 points.
The next event is the qualifying competition on Thursday in Ruka, Finland.
