Davies pitches 5 shutout innings, Brewers top Royals

Zach Davies allowed four hits in five shutout innings and Brett Phillips hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 1-0 win over the Kansas City Royals.

Ryan Braun started at first base and had two hits on the afternoon. Shortstop Orlando Arcia also had two hits.

J.J. Hoover, Oliver Drake and Nate Griep also pitched scoreless innings in relief of Davies.
