DFS Contest and Suggestions for Week 10

Published Nov. 15, 2016 2:33 p.m. ET

Points, points, and more points are on the horizon for Week 10. Half of the games on the docket have an over/under above 48 total points. That bodes well for our DFS lineups this Sunday.

DraftKings' user, "tcam0790," won our contest in Week 9. Melvin Gordon (39.1), Drew Brees (27.72), and Jay Ajayi (25) were the key contributors.

Now, for the Week 10 suggestions...

QB: Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers ($6,800)

We can all agree that Roethlisberger played horribly last Sunday. He was a game-time decision and eventually got/gave the all-clear to start. However, Big Ben is still just a few weeks removed from knee surgery and wasn't able to practice much because of the weather last week. All that being said, Roethlisberger's price tag is very favorable for Week 10. He's only the sixth-most expensive QB for our slate of games. Vegas has given this matchup an over/under of 50, the second-most for Week 10. Before the injury, Big Ben threw at least three TDs in four of the first five games this season.

RB: David Johnson, Cardinals ($8,400)

Poor Todd Gurley is the only starting running back to not reach 100 rushing yards against the 49ers this season. Johnson faced San Francisco in Week 5. He tallied 157 rushing yards and two touchdowns during that performance. While he's an expensive option, Johnson is a safe play, too.

WR: Mike Evans, Buccaneers ($9,000)

He reached 41 DK points last week against the Falcons and now gets an even more favorable matchup with the Bears coming to town. In the last three weeks, Evans is averaging 13.7 targets per game. Chicago has allowed four receiving TDs to opposing WRs in the past three weeks, too.

TE: Lance Kendricks, Rams ($3,000)

With Detroit on a bye and Cleveland playing on Thursday, I actually have to do some research this week. Kendricks has received at least eight targets in the past three games. Looking at the last four weeks, Kendricks' 19 receptions are behind only Jimmy Graham (22) and Jack Doyle (20). Kendricks is only $3K on DK, too.

D/ST: LAR or NYJ ($2,900-$2,800)

At the beginning of this piece, I mentioned all the high-scoring projected games. This matchup has the lowest over/under for Week 10: 39 total points. I would be fine with either defense from this contest. The Jets offense leads the league with 19 total giveaways, including 14 interceptions (13 by Ryan Fitzpatrick). Case Keenum is second behind Fitzpatrick with 11 INTs. If I had to choose, give me the defense that doesn't have to fly across the country and play in what would be an early start time.
