Ducks' prospect set for NHL debut in Calgary

Published Dec. 29, 2015 2:51 p.m. ET

The time is now for one Ducks prospect.

Twenty-year-old defenseman and 26th overall pick Shea Theodore will make his NHL debut tonight with the Anaheim Ducks. The Langley, BC native was recalled on Monday from the San Diego Gulls to replace Cam Fowler. Fowler will be out indefinitely with a sprained knee.

In his previous two call-ups to the big club, Theodore did not dress with the team in either of his stints. Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau confirmed the youngster's debut to reporters on Tuesday morning.

The Ducks start a three-game road trip of western Canadian teams tonight with Calgary and ending on New Year's Day near Theodore's hometown against the Vancouver Canucks.
