The Ducks locked up some of their future on Friday.
Forward Rickard Rakell agreed to a six-year contract extension through the 2021-22 NHL season. Terms were not disclosed.
At just 23 years of age, Rakell has already netted 78 points in 165 career games with Anaheim. The 6-foot-1, 201 pounder led the team in game-winning goals (7) and overtime goals (2) while recording career-highs in goals (20), assists (23), points (43) and games played (71) last season.
Rakell joined the Ducks after being selected in the first round (30th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
