Eric Thames' Korean theme song finally comes to Miller Park

Eric Thames has a theme song.

After posting a truly ridiculous .345/.466/.810 to go along with 11 home runs and a 1.276 OPS during his first month with the Brewers, he probably deserves one.

But rather than saddle Thames with some pedestrian pop song, the Korean Baseball Organization's NC Dinos went out and wrote their own while the bearded first baseman was clubbing his way to a KBO MVP award.

Seriously.

First, some background: So-called "cheer songs" are a big deal in the KBO, where teams invest significant marketing dollars in licensing or composing songs for specific players, and employ cheerleaders to sing them.

So, naturally, Thames -- known by the not-at-all hyperbolic nickname "God" in South Korea -- had a song of his own during his three-year run with the Dinos.

The song made its Millar Park debut Tuesday night, when Thames crushed his 13th home run of the season to lead the Brewers to an 11-7 win over the Boston Red Sox, and it is wonderful.

Eric Thames. Crush that ball!

Eric Thames. Crush that ball!

Eric Thames. Home run!

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh…

This thing will be lodged in your brain all day.

Thames' Brewers teammates became aware of the song a few weeks ago, and seem to be pretty into it, particularly outfielder Keon Broxton.

The KBO might be on to something here.
