FAMU introduces Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow Sr. as AD
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida A&M has officially announced Kellen Winslow Sr. as its next athletic director. The university held a ceremony on campus Wednesday to introduce the College and Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Winslow was the No. 13 pick in the 1979 NFL draft and was a five-time Pro Bowl tight end with the San Diego Chargers. He recently worked as director of planning and new business development at Disney's Wide World of Sports. Winslow was vice president for athletics and wellness at Lakeland College in Plymouth, Wis., from August 2012 through March 2013. He previously worked as the athletic director for Central State University, in Wilberforce, Ohio, for nearly four years.
FAMU fired Derek Horne in June and Michael Smith had been the interim athletic director since.
