Fan gets a tattoo of UFC champ Jon Jones' face on his arm
News flash. Not everyone hates Jon Jones.
Actually, one fan loves the UFC light heavyweight champion so much that he got a tattoo of Jones' face on his arm (h/t Tito Couture). That is some serious dedication to fandom from Sean Bester. Or just really, really weird. Both?
Jones' manager Malki Kawa posted the pic on his Instagram on Friday. Bester, who is from New Zealand, put it up earlier in the week. It looks pretty legitimate.
Many fans love to hate Jones. It's possible some just flat-out hate him. Jones, though, told FOX Sports earlier this week he doesn’t mind those people so much, because of all the love he gets from the fans who do appreciate him.
"I know that I have a very, very strong following," said Jones, who defends his title against Glover Teixiera at UFC 172 on April 26 in Baltimore. "I know some people waiting in that three-hour line are the same people at home roasting me about silly things. That's all part of me being an entertainer."
Jones, 26, said he's had fans break down and cry when he meets them. His Nike sneaker sold out in 45 minutes, he said. So, Jones understands there's a give and take.
On Tuesday, Jones had a social media mishap when homophobic remarks were posted from his account on a male Swedish teen's Instagram. Jones said his phone was hacked. Many people on Twitter didn’t believe him. UFC president Dana White reiterated that Jones didn’t post those comments this week.
As for the dude with the tattoo, even Jones might think that's a tad excessive. But hey, it's his body, right?
