Fantasy football draft impact: Martavis Bryant's potential suspension

As we head into a busy weekend of fantasy football drafts around the country, here's what we know about Martavis Bryant and his looming four-game suspension.

According to FOXSports.com NFL editor and reporter, Ross Jones, Bryant has been suspended for the first four games of the 2015 season for violating the league's Substances of Abuse Policy, but the suspension is under appeal.

As of our last fantasy department composite draft rankings update (which will have one more overhaul early next week), Bryant ranked 100th overall and WR29 among his fellow receivers.

Despite only playing in 10 games during the 2014 season, Bryant's 549 yards with eight touchdowns produced 104 fantasy points, which ranked WR42. Popular fantasy opinion has swayed over the last two months with Bryant's average draft position flirting with the third round, but has regressed to the back end of the fourth and early fifth rounds.

Look, the guy played in 10 games last year and averaged approximately 10 fantasy points per game during the stretch. Even if his full four-game suspension is upheld, he has the opportunity to play in 12 games in 2015. While Bryant's offseason momentum to become a WR2 in fantasy football is a distant memory, the guy still has value in standard leagues in the seventh through ninth rounds. Where I've basically jumped off the bandwagon is in PPR leagues where, no matter if Markus Wheaton is the listed No. 2 WR or not, Bryant is going to struggle to get targets from Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. Points-per-reception league owners who take a gamble on Bryant are almost always going to need a touchdown to justify the start.
