Fantasy Football: Eli Manning Week 6 Projection

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The fantasy football season has entered Week 6, and owners of New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning have been frustrated this season.

Coming into the 2016 season, the New York Giants were projected to be one of the best offenses in the NFL. Fantasy football owners tried to make sure that they were able to get some of the starters on the offense, like quarterback Eli Manning.

After a few very good seasons with Ben McAdoo as the offensive coordinator, Manning hasn’t played as well with him as the head coach. So far this season, Manning has totaled 1,385 passing yards, five touchdown passes, and four interceptions.

The numbers have not been good for Manning this season, and that is one of the reasons why the Giants are 2-3. While the matchup against the Ravens isn’t ideal, Manning has played better at home this season than on the road. At home, Manning has totaled more than 300 passing yards in both games against the New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins.

Neither of those two teams has a defense like the Ravens do, but Manning appears to be more confident at home. The real alarming thing for Manning has been his inability to find the end zone.

Manning has only been able to connect with Odell Beckham Jr. for a touchdown once this season, and that happened last week against the Packers. This week, Manning will be facing the Ravens’ defense, who are ranked eighth in points allowed to opposing quarterbacks.

The Ravens’ defense will be the best statistically that Manning has faced this season, and that is concerning for his fantasy owners. Due to his struggles this season, it is hard to expect Manning to have a big day against the best defense that he has faced this season.

Projection: 250 passing yards, one passing touchdown, two interceptions.
