Feldman still slated for Saturday start

Right-hander Scott Feldman, who allowed eight runs in the second inning and has an ERA of 7.01, is still slated to start against San Francisco Saturday.

"We've got time to talk about that," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "At this point in time there's no discussion on Feldman so it is what it is."

Washington said someone within the organization had mentioned Roy Oswalt ramping up his pitching routine in the minors but that doesn't look likely either.

"We want Oswalt for the rest of the haul so we want to try and make sure he gets everything he needs so when he comes here he's ready to perform for us at a level he's capable of," Washington said. "He told us he could have went five (Saturday)."

Oswalt, who pitched two innings in his debut Saturday, is slated to start for Round Rock Thursday.

Washington said left-hander Robbie Ross is too valuable in the bullpen but has starting experience.
