Final pitchers for Cubs, Indians in Game 7 are Hart HS alums
The historic end to a historic World Series turned out to be an historic event for Hart High School.
On Wednesday, during the epic Game 7 in Cleveland, the final pitchers for both teams in the 10th inning ... Trevor Bauer for the Indians and Mike Montgomery for the Cubs ... are alums of Hart.
Montgomery also picked up the save in Game 7, an 8-7 Cubs victory, which ended the club's 108-year World Series drought.

Montgomery was a first-round selection (36th overall) in the 2008 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals and joined the Cubs in July of 2016. For his career, Montgomery holds an 8-11 record with a 3.51 Earned Run Average and 151 strikeouts.
For Bauer, who went to UCLA following his Hart days and was named the National Pitcher of the Year following his junior season, 2016 marks his third full season with the Indians. He was drafted by Arizona with the third-overall selection in the 2011 MLB Draft.

Bauer is 30-32 overall in his five-year career, with a 4.35 ERA and 509 strikeouts.
