Fischer leads Marquette to 101-79 win over Houston Baptist
MILWAUKEE -- Luke Fischer took control early and finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds as he led Marquette to a dominating 101-79 win over Houston Baptist on Saturday night.
Fischer needed just 11 minutes to score 17 points and grab eight rebounds in the first period as Marquette jumped out to a 56-33 halftime advantage. Fischer finished the game making 9 of 10 from the floor and picked up five offensive rebounds.
Haanif Cheatham added 21 points with six assists and Jajuan Johnson made 9 of 13 field goal attempts for 22 points for Marquette (4-2).
The Golden Eagles hit the century mark for the second straight game as they rolled over IUPU 104-79 on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles made 37 of 66 from the floor while holding Houston Baptist (2-3) to 29-of-67 shooting. Marquette also controlled the boards, 41-31.
Asa Cantwell and Josh Ibarra led the Huskies with 12 points apiece.
