Fitzgerald weighs in on rumors he'll retire after the season
Larry Fitzgerald looked like the Larry Fitzgerald of old in Week 1 against the New England Patriots, catching eight passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns. The 33-year-old Arizona Cardinals receiver showed no signs of decline and appeared to be someone who could play another three years.
Whether he'll play even one more season remains to be seen, but he put rumors of his forthcoming retirement to rest after the game.
Before Sunday's game, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Fitzgerald has told people close to him that he plans to retire after this season. Those claims seem to be unsubstantiated at this time, with Fitzgerald's dad even debunking the report.

On Monday, ESPN Adam Schefter echoed Fitzgerald Sr.'s tweet saying his son hasn't said such things, reporting that he won't be retiring after all.
Hopefully this will put to rest any rumor that No. 11 will be calling it a career after this season. Perhaps a Super Bowl victory at the end of it will encourage him to ride off into the sunset, but at the moment he's focused on 2016 and nothing else -- not even his dinner plans on a given night.
