LILLEHAMMER, Norway (AP) Kenneth Gangnes of Norway earned his first ski jump World Cup victory by winning a normal hill event Sunday ahead of Peter Prevc of Slovenia.
Gangnes missed out on the win in Saturday's event by 0.1 points but bounced back with two good jumps that earned him a total of 278.2 points. Prevc was 1.8 points back with another Norwegian, Johann Andre Forfang, a further 3.9 back in third place.
Saturday's event was shortened to one jump because of strong winds but organizers were able to complete two rounds on Sunday.
Gangnes is second in the overall standings, just one point behind Severin Freund of Germany, who won on Saturday and was fifth Sunday.
