Goldschmidt, Castillo rank 4th in NL All-Star voting

Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and catcher Welington Castillo are fourth in the initial voting tallies for the National League All-Star team.

Castillo has the highest vote total among the D-backs with 249,159. St. Louis' Yadier Molina leads the vote with 517,825, followed by San Francisco's Buster Posey, former D-back Miguel Montero of the Cubs. Castillo ranks second to Milwaukee's Jonathan Lucroy among NL catchers with seven homers while batting .265.

Goldschmidt has 217,186 votes, far behind leader Anthony Rizzo (874,471) of the Cubs. San Francisco's Brandon Belt is second, followed by the Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez and Goldschmidt. Goldschmidt, hitting .269, ranks third among NL first basemen with 10 homers, second in RBI with 33 and first in on-base percentage at .426. Rizzo is hitting .236 with 11 homers and 37 RBI.

Rizzo is one of five Cubs who are currently in position to be NL starters, along with second baseman Ben Zobrist, shortstop Addison Russell, third baseman Kris Bryant and outfielder Dexter Fowler. The other leaders are outfielders Bryce Harper of Washington and Yoenis Cespedes of New York.

Voting continues through June 30 at mlb.com. The All-Star Game will be played July 12 in San Diego.
