Goodwin's first triple-double lifts SLU over Duquesne 76-63
ST. LOUIS -- Freshman Jordan Goodwin registered Saint Louis' first-ever triple-double with 13 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and 10 assists and the Billikens beat Duquesne 76-63 on Wednesday night.
Goodwin also had four steals, the fourth time he's done that this season. Jordan almost posted a triple-double when George Mason beat Saint Louis 86-81 on Saturday, with 11 assists, nine rebounds and nine points. Goodwin scored Saint Louis' first seven points against the Dukes.
D.J. Foreman scored 21 points for the Billikens (9-10, 2-4 Atlantic 10) and Javon Bess added 14. The Billikens used a 9-1 run early to build a 16-7 lead. Rene Castro-Caneddy had a layup and a jumper and Duquesne closed to 22-16 before Saint Louis' 7-0 run pushed the lead to 13.
After halftime, Saint Louis opened with another 7-0 spurt for a 41-22 lead. Duquesne (13-6, 4-2) never trailed by less than 13 the rest of the contest.
Castro-Caneddy led the Dukes with 21 points, Mike Lewis II scored 13 and Eric Williams Jr. added 11 with 10 boards.
