Gophers release renderings of Athletics Village project
The Minnesota Gophers on Tuesday released a new set of renderings of their Athletics Village, which is set to open in winter 2018.
The $166 million project will include new football, basketball, academic, leadership development and nutrition facilities for Gophers athletics. The football facilities will include a new indoor field, strength and conditioning space, a locker room, team room and recruiting room, meeting space, support offices and a sports medicine area. The basketball facilities will include 1 1/2 courts each for the women's and men's teams, strength and conditioning space, team and locker rooms, a recruiting room and support offices and meeting rooms.
The university has raised more than $80 million in private donations for the project.
