Hauser, Golden Eagles keep rolling over St. John's

MILWAUKEE -- Sam Hauser tied a career-best with 19 points, including five 3-pointers, Matt Heldt had the first double-double of his career and Marquette cruised to a 93-71 win over St. John's on Tuesday night.

Heldt had 15 points, 10 rebounds -- both career highs -- for Marquette (17-10, 8-7 Big East). Andrew Rowsey scored 18 with six assists, Katin Reinhardt added 16 and five and Jajuan Johnson scored 11.

Rowsey hit a 3-pointer to cap a 12-0 run that put the Golden Eagles up 20-16 and they led by double figures the rest of the way. Marquette shot 64 percent in the first half, led 52-37 at the break and made 12 of 24 from 3-point range in the game. St. John's (12-16, 6-9) hit just 6-of-22 (27.3 percent) 3-pointers and was outrebounded 38-29.

Bashir Ahmed had 21 points, Marcus LoVett scored 17 and Shamorie Ponds added 14 with seven rebounds and six assists for the Red Storm.
