How the Badgers ran and passed: Game 2 vs. Miami (Ohio)

Time for this week's look at the directions and success of Wisconsin's run game as well as the targets thrown to by Badgers quarterbacks.

It is still early in the season but here's two things we know so far looking at the numbers: Wisconsin is going to spread the ball around in the passing game and the Badgers like running Taiwan Deal inside.

A quick note on this past week's game against Miami (Ohio): Due to TV coverage ending I missed two running plays from Derek Straus and Deal and thus cannot include them in the totals. These shouldn't affect the numbers too much especially as the season progresses.

For those new to this feature, I re-watch the game and chart each play, but don't track QB runs as they might be unplanned (i.e. scrambles) and/or sacks. Generally speaking, a run middle is over where the center lined up, inside is over where the guard lined up, outside the tackle or just beyond and wide is usually a reverse, end around, etc.

LI = left inside; LO= left outside; LW = left wide (i.e. end around); MID = middle; RI = right inside; RO = right outside; RW = right wide; INT = intended receiver on an interception
