How they voted: Badgers in the 2015 AP football poll (Week 15)
Wisconsin, of course, did not play this past week but still managed to jump up two spots in the latest Associated Press top 25 poll, from 25 to 23.
This is thanks to both Temple and USC losing, as the Badgers jumped both those teams. The Trojans, who will be Wisconsni's opponent in the Holiday Bowl, dropped out of the top 25 altogether, although are No 25 in the college playoff rankings (while Wisconsin is not ranked).
But back to the Badgers. Eleven voters in the AP poll kept Wisconsin off their ballot. Anyway who had the Badgers ranked last week did so again this week. Most left UW at the same spot or move the Badgers up a slot or two. However, as usual, there are always exceptions.
Nathan Deen of the Savannah Morning News moved Wisconsin up six spots (from 25 to 19), Jim Dunaway of CBS WIAT-TV pushed UW up five spots (unranked to 21) iand ESPN's Brett McMurphy four spots (23 to 19). Wow, the Badgers must have really looked good on that off week!
Of course, three writers moved Wisconsin down from last week, including three slots by Mike Sorensen of the Desert News (who last week went from not having UW ranked to placing them at 17), so maybe the Badgers didn't look so good by not playing.
Yeah, this poll is always fun to track.
