ICC says no evidence of fixing in 3rd Ashes test in December

The International Cricket Council says there is no evidence of fixing in the third Ashes test in December and has ended its investigation.

British newspaper The Sun published purported evidence of bookmakers offering to sell details of rigged periods of play for betting purposes in the test between Australia and England in Perth.

Alex Marshall, the ICC general manager of anti-corruption, says the governing body carried out an ''extensive'' global investigation and he is ''satisfied that there is no evidence to suggest any match has been corrupted by the individuals in the investigation.''

He added in an ICC statement released Thursday there was no ''indication that any international players, administrators or coaches have been in contact with the alleged fixers.''
