India makes 308-8, batting 1st in 2nd ODI vs Australia
BRISBANE, Australia (AP) Rohit Sharma completed back-to-back centuries, reaching 124 and sharing another big stand with Virat Kohli as India scored 308-8 on Friday in the second one-day international against Australia.
Sharma made 171 not out - his third-highest score in ODIs - as India compiled 309-3 in the series-opener at Perth earlier in the week before being beaten by five wickets by Australia.
He again combined with Kohli to provide the substance of the India innings at the Gabba on Friday as the tourists won the toss and batted. In the first match at Perth he put on 207 for the second wicket with Kohli, who made 91, and on Friday the pair put on 135 in another decisive second wicket stand.
Ajinkya Rahane then made 89 as India set Australia a testing target as rain threatened.
