INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Pacers expect rookie center Myles Turner to miss at least four weeks with a chip fracture in his left thumb.
He was injured in Wednesday night's victory at Boston. Team officials made the announcement Thursday and said Turner is consulting with the medical staff about what to do next.
The 19-year-old Turner was the No. 11 overall selection in June's draft. He averaged 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.9 minutes during his first eight games.

Without Turner, the Pacers could give extra minutes to Chase Budinger, Glenn Robinson III, Lavoy Allen or Solomon Hill.
Indiana (5-4) has won four of five games since starting 0-3 and hosts Minnesota on Friday.
