Jeff Nelson joins FOX Sports Florida as Marlins LIVE analyst
MIAMI -- FOX Sports Florida, the statewide television home of the Miami Marlins, announced Jeff Nelson has joined its roster of Marlins on-air talent. In his new role, Nelson will serve as studio analyst on select Marlins LIVE pre- and postgame shows. Nelson will make his Marlins LIVE pregame show debut this Tuesday, June 14 at 9:30 p.m. before the Marlins take on the San Diego Padres.
Currently, Nelson serves as an analyst on MLB.com and as a host on SiriusXM's MLB Network Radio. A 15-year MLB veteran, Nelson was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1984 and made his Major League debut with the Seattle Mariners in 1992. Throughout his career, he played for the Mariners, 1992-95, 2001-03 and 2005; New York Yankees, 1996-2000, and 2003; Texas Rangers, 2004; and Chicago White Sox, 2006. He won four World Series rings with the Yankees and was named an American League All-Star in 2001. Over his career, he racked up 829 strikeouts and sported a lifetime ERA of 3.41.
