Josh Rosen: 'Nine mistakes were made ahead of me'
While NFL analysts have spent the past several years critiquing quarterback Josh Rosen for details on and off the field, one thing he could never be criticized for was holding back his feelings.
After being drafted 10th overall by the Arizona Cardinals, who traded up into the position to acquire him, Thursday, Rosen was very candid about the emotions he experienced after falling as a projected top-5 pick.
"I was pretty pissed off I fell," Rosen said. "I was honestly expecting to get picked at some point and have to fake a smile and go up and pretend to be happy, but for some reason when I got picked it just went to straight excitement and all of that went away."
Rosen is expected to be the replacement for longtime starter Carson Palmer as his career comes to a close.
The former UCLA standout was asked if he expects to be the starter by the beginning of the season to which Rosen responded, "I don't care," emphasizing he is just happy to be with the Cardinals and calling the situation "a match made in heaven."
Rosen was one of four quarterbacks chosen in the top 10, an NFL record, and one of two Bruins to go in the top 15 as his former offensive tackle Kolton Miller went to the Oakland Raiders at 15.
